Netflix UK Launch Imminent

UK streaming TV fans wait is finally coming to an end, as Netflix get ready to launch the full service in the UK this week. The company slipped out a PlayStation 3 app over the weekend in preparation for a complete rollout.

Netflix announced the Britain and Ireland launch last October and have been negotiating content deals ever since. The company dominate streaming in the US, Canada and Latin America already and have over 20 million subscribers around the world. Last week Netflix reportedvealed that viewers had watched over 2 billion hours of content in the last 3 months of 2011.

 

PS3 owners have noticed the familiar Netflix logo appearing amongst the other apps although the online service is not yet live. The app currently lets users register for updates. The Netflix service will cost £5.99 monthly for unlimited streaming of TV shows and movies, which is a similar price point to Lovefilm who will be their biggest rival.

 

So if you have a connected TV set, Blu-Ray player or other connected device, keep checking for the imminent Netflix app.
